Never Order from Family Chef Again
I was very dissapointed with the serving sizes, website stated it was enough for 2 adults, wasn't even a meal for one adult and one child. The meal was about the size of one TV dinner.  The Cordon Bleu meal was one breast we had to divide. I will never order from Family Chef again.

Food Was Edible to Good
It's not like me to ever write and make posts like this, but I was dissapointment with what I received for the money I spent. I found their website very difficult to find any pictures of their meals, so I ended up buying a mega meal package because I was having guests.

Their food was edible to good.  Nothing was great or gave me the feeling I was buying gourmet meals.  I guess that is what they don't put pictures on their web pages.

Frozen Meals in the Supermarket Taste Better!
In my humble opinion this is not a meal delivery service to be considered. There are equal and better selections of frozen dinners at the store, and the frozen meals in the Supermarket taste better!  Any three for $5 special will compare to this food.  Except you will pay a gourmet price for it plus shipping. Run away!

My Parents Liked Them
I am a little surpirsed to see these comments so I decided to post my own experience.  I sent a FamilyChef meal plan to my parents as a holiday gift. They are both in their late seventies, but they told me they enjoyed the meals and liked them very much. The web site is small but easy to shop. I asked customer service to change a delivery date, which they did. My parents liked them.

Did Not Seem Like A Good Value
I paid over $100 for these four prepared meals from Family Chef. They are supposed to serve two people. I found that to be two small servings for two, but one great serving for one. $25 for one serving is a bit much for my budget, and $12.50 for two small portions did not seem like a good value to me. Almost every meal had the same vegetable side dish, which wasn't anything you can't get the supermarket, and the mashed potatoes seemed instant to me.

Family Chef Cajun Shrimp Pasta Meal
Family Chef Lasagna Primo Prepared Meal
Family Chef BBQ Pork Ribs Prepared Meal
Cajun Shrimp Pasta
This is a meal I would defiantly consider one serving. The amount of water in the bottom of the tray was a turn off, but the sauce was good, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce was spicy and I would have liked to see more or larger pieces of shrimp.
Lasagna Primo
This meal also had a lot of excess water in the tray. Again, the serving for two adults is questionable, but the lasagna noodles were great, the sauce had real meat in it, and there was plenty of mozzarella cheese on top. There wasn't any Ricotta cheese, which I would expert to be in a lasagna. Not worth $25 for one person, but it tasted good.
Savory Beef Pot Roast
I didn't notice the tray was cracked in this meal. The gravy leaked out into my microwave and made quite a mess. It takes about 15 minutes to heat these meals, not too convenient for two people. The meat was good, and if there was meal that might serve two, this was it. The instant potatoes weren't anything special.
BBQ Pork Ribs
These boneless ribs may have been the best tasting thing we tried, but my husband ate most of them. The sauce was really good too. To be honest, we got tired of the same vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots) and instant mashed potatoes that came with every meal. Not really a serving size for two people.
When you order their meals from the website, you can only see the entree you are ordering. I probably would have ordered differently had I known I was getting the same thing in every meal. The food was good, but I don't think it was worth the money. I can eat locally for $25 a meal for one, and $12.50 a meal for two, and do better.
